Thiruvanthapuram: President of RAM Nath Kovind praised the services of doctors and nurses from Kerala in controlling pandemic throughout the world, praising them as the pride of the nation.
Launching Statue of PN Panicker, is considered a pioneer of literacy and library movements, on Thursday in the country’s capital, he said that the service professionals from the country, especially nurses and doctors, were highly respected and relied on by people everywhere.
“Recently, when Covid affected the whole world, nurses and doctors from Kerala were one of the most visible Covid soldiers in India, the Middle East and so many areas in the other world.
Kerala people increase Indian pride,” he said.
Expressing his favorite for the country, the President remembers the visit of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Kerala in 2000 which was then inspired for a new poetry pen.
“For five days he spent Kumarakom on the edge of Lake Vembanad, both poets and thinkers in him inspired.
