Covid-19: Five IAS officers to monitor the situation as TPR reached 12.38% in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The state reported an increase in the petition of the Test (TPR) to 12.38% on Thursday.
271 local bodies have TPR above 15%.
With TPR Rising, the government has appointed an IAS officer as a special officer in five main districts to coordinate contacts, enforcement of regulations and Covid detention activities.
Officers have been given strict directives to focus on dropping TPR.
The officials who have been appointed are GOKUL (PALAKKAD), P B NoOH (Kasaragod), S Karthikeyan (Thrissur), S Haricishore (Kozhikode) and Suhas Sivanna (Malappuram).
A total of 12,818 new Covid-19 cases were reported from 1,03,543 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
A total of 122 deaths were recently confirmed because Covid and the victims were killed in the country now 15,740.
As many as 13,454 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours took the total recovery amount to 30,72,895.
There 1.28,881 people under the supervision in the state.
Among new cases, 12,034 people were infected through local deployment.
Infection contact sources cannot be tracked for 623 people.
There are 85 health care professionals among those infected while 76 people have arrived from outside the country.
Thrissur reported the highest number of cases on Thursday (1,605) followed by Kozhikode (1,586), Ernakulam (1,554), Malappuram (1,249), Palakkad (1095), Thiruvananthapuram (987), Kolllayam (763), Alappuzha (718), Kasaragod ( 706), Kannur (552), Pathanamthitta (443), Idukki (318) and Wayanad (282).
There are a total of 4,09,323 people currently observing in various districts where 3,83,826 are in their homes or institutional quarantine centers and 25,497 in isolation in hospitals.
There are 73 local bodies with TPR below 5%, 335 with TPR between 5% -10%, 355 with TPR between 10% -15% and 271 with TPR above 15% in the country.
