Covid-19 in Chennai: T Nagar & 8 Markets Closed for 10 Days

Chennai: Because the number of daily cases in TN continues to increase for the second day in a row with 1,947 new cases recorded on Friday compared to 1,859 on Thursday, Chennai Corporation announced the closure of the market and shops in the city for 10 days since 10 days 31 .
The area covered includes Jalan Rangathan, Kothwal Chavadi, North Uman Road to Mambalam Rail Road and Doveton Junction to Brooklyn Road in Purasawalkam.
There is no new relaxation to be announced for the city until August 9, the Civic body said in a press release.
It is also said that it will limit home isolation and move people who test centered on covid care centers or hospitals.
With coimbatore recording 230 cases and Chennai 215 on Friday, the two districts have reported an increase for the fifth consecutive day.
The country recorded 27 Covid deaths on Friday.
Chennai, who reported 122 new cases on July 26, reported 164 new cases two days later.
On Thursday, the city reported 181 fresh Covid-19 cases.
After a meeting with commercial establishment, members of the Corporate City Federation and Police Police decided to close shops in areas where the Covid protocol was violated.
This includes Jalan Rangathan, North Uman Road to Mambalam Rail Road, Doveton Junction to Brooklyn Road in Puraiwalkam, Bari Haai Ratna Café Junction to Bells Road Junction, Habibullah Road, Pulipone Bazaar, Curalalag to Thanga Road Junction at NSC Bose Road, Royapuram Market Kalmandapam Road, Royapuram Air Tank to Kamatchi Amman Temple, Aminjikarai Market on Poonamallee Road From Booth Police Till Pulta Avenue, Thiru-VI-Ka Nagar Park Junction, will Statue to Ambedkar Statue at Red Hills.
The Kothawal Chavadi market will be left open on Saturday.
This will be closed until August 9 from Sunday.
Meanwhile, health authorities including the Minister of Health MA Subramanian said the state would encourage people to institutional isolation to prevent the spread.
The Greater Chennai Corporation, who has insisted on the house quarantine for almost 10 days now said that 1500 active cases in the city, only 342 were in house isolation.
Corporate Commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi said: “Unless the officials are very sure that the house is quite large and there is no possibility of cross infection, we will not allow home isolation again.
It is not recommended for people who live in apartments, two or three bedrooms , “he said.
