India reported 26,070 cases and 300 deaths on Monday, with numbers from Assam, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh still waiting.
Even with the addition of cases from these countries, it is unlikely that the number of cases will cross 28,859, which makes the day count the lowest since March 16.
Kere in cases is likely related to lower testing on weekends.
Even when compared to cases reported on the same day last week, almost all countries reported a decline.
Compared to last Monday, the case declined at 935 in Kerala, while the decline was 364 for Maharashtra.
Similarly, cases fell more than 100 in Meghalaya, Mizoram, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The only country that reported a significant increase in case was Himachal Pradesh, where the count rose almost 100 compared to last week.
Among the states, Kerala led the list on Monday with 13,049 cases, followed by Maharashtra (4,505).
Apart from both, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are the only other states that report more than 1,000 new cases.
The count is between 500 to 1000 for West Bengal and Odisha while Manipur, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir report between 100 to 500 cases.
The country reported 300 Covid deaths on Monday, where 105 was reported from Kerala, while the victims were 68, 24 and 23 for Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Globally, there has been a fresh surge in Covid cases in the US, Brazil, England and Iran.
