LONDON: Fewer people in the UK who have Covid-19 at the end of last month, while the number of “r” supervised reproduction may have dropped below 1, adding evidence that the national epidemic has stopped growing.
The British office for National Statistics (ONS) said 1 out of 75 people in the UK it was estimated to have a Coronavirus that week until July 31, down from 1 at 65 weeks earlier.
The health of British people said the estimated number of R in the UK was between 0.8 and 1.1, a sharp fell from the range of 1.1 to 1.4.
The number R below 1 shows a shrinking pandemic, while if above one, it shows exponential growth.
The range of daily growth rates is estimated between -3% and + 1%.
New data added to the evidence that the Coronavirus case had fallen from the peak on July 17 on the daily reported number for this wave, even after Prime Minister Boris Johnson raised the covid limit in the UK.
Everyday case in England reached 54,674 two days before the restrictions ended but had fallen since then.
ONS data, which provides a full picture of a pandemic rather than the total daily test, shows a similar drop trend.
“Because the ons survey is intended as a random population sample and therefore impartial, this is a source of information that is stronger than case data,” said Rowland Kao, an epidemiologist at Edinburgh University.
“So this decreases in the amount – with the right statistical uncertainty – convincing.” The total daily case rose sharply in run-up until the end of the legal coronavirus limitation in the UK on July 19, and the Health Minister Sajid Javid said it would reach 100,000 a day after unlocking.
Instead, new cases of everyday began to fall.
Epidemiologists say the end of the Euro 2020 football championship and school summer holidays may have helped reduce the spread of viruses, as well as careful behavior.
