On average, the state has tested a 1.2 lakh sample every day with a few days – like August 1 – see more than 1.5 test lakh.
“If necessary, the available infrastructure can be encouraged to test up to 1.8 lakh per day.
It has been achieved in the past on a few days when the cases soared.
Do it every day will lead to backlogs and affect the overall handling of pandemic, “Manjunath said.
After peaking in November 2020 with almost 31.2 Lakh monthly tests, Karnataka testing has been dipped in the next three months – 29.7 lakh in December 2020, 29.5 lakh and 17.6 lakh in January and February 2021, before taking Again from March 2021.
