Thane: Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has launched a ‘cellular vaccination’ drive in the twin cities of Thane Maharashtra Regency in an effort to encourage inoculation between underground and slum occupants.
The drive was inaugurated by KDMC Vijay Suryavanshi’s head on Wednesday.
The Head of the KDMC Medical Officer, Dr.
Pratibha Patpatil told TII that the Civic body has requested its health center to write down all fields where qualified beneficiaries can benefit from cellular vaccination drives.
“There are many slum bags in cities, especially in Kalyan East and in Dombivli.
It is high-risk spots because of their solid population and imagining them against the virus is important.
But people here are skeptical to vaccinate central and getting Jab, so we decided to take a vaccine to them, “said Patpatil.
He told that two buses had been deployed by the Civic body for this purpose.
Beneficiaries will be given by Jab in one bus and will be asked to wait for observations in the other.
“Today, the bus is parked near the Khadegolwali area and a number of people inoculated.
Everyone over the age of 18 qualifies for vaccines.
Every day, a number of specific doses of vaccines from the total shares will be allocated for cellular.
Vaccination,” he shared.
“The whole process will be offline.
Residents must only appear with their aadhaar card,” he added.
Only the covishield dose is managed in the drive.
It is scheduled to start around 11am every day and continue until the last stock.
Kalyan and Dombivli are the two hardest hit cities because Covid-19 in the Mumbai Metropolitan region (MMR).
The Civic’s body has also faced an acute lack of vaccines.
In addition to cellular vaccination, the drivers of inoculation throughout the city are suspended on Wednesday because of the unavailability of sufficient doses.
