Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 7,167 cases of fresh Covid-19 and 167 related deaths that raised cooperatives to 49,68,657 and death to 31,681.
Of the 167 deaths, 14 reported for the past few days, 146 were those who were not confirmed until June 18 last year due to lack of adequate documentation and seven were designated as Covid deaths after receiving an appeal based on new guidelines.
And the Supreme Court instructions, official press releases said on Sunday.
With 6,439 more people recovered from viruses since Saturday, total recovery touched 48.57.181 and active cases reached 79,185, the release said.
A total of 65,158 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest with 1,046 cases followed by Hiruvananthapuram (878) and thrissur (753).
From new cases, 42 are health workers, 25 from outside the country and 6,879 were infected through contact with the source unclear at 221.
At present there are 2,72,248 people under supervision in various districts, including 2.64,972 in the home quarantine or institutions and 7,276 in hospitals.
