New Delhi: When it comes to death among patients who are hospitalized, the data compiled by the private hospital chain reveals that the second wave is far more fatal than the first wave.
The study conducted by Max Healthcare showed that the death rate among patients treated in hospitals in the second wave of about 40% higher than the first wave.
During the second wave (January to mid-June 2021), the ratio of death was calculated for 5,454 inpatients working at 10.5%, which was around 40% higher than the 7.2% death rate among 14,398 patients treated at the Pandemi Hospital ( April-December 2020).
This study, published as Prefrint in Medric Medical Journal that has not been reviewed by peer-reviewed, based on Covid data collected from 10 hospitals run by Max Healthcare in North India, including six in Delhi-NCR.
