Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Saturday warned strict action on people who deliberately missed the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

He said that of the 81 Covid deaths which took place in January this year, 80% of victims could not be vaccinated or missed their second dose.

Varinder Kumar Sharma said that for government officials, directives were clear that only employees who were fully vaccinated would get a salary.
He said that he would also speak to industrialists not to issue salaries to staff who were not vaccinated because if we wanted to have a covid-free society, everyone must be fully vaccinated.
He told me that mega vaccination drives were being held on January 30 and urged all those who qualified to come out in large quantities and get the second dose of their vaccines.
