Mumbai: Head of Maharashtra Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday told the cabinet that on September 21, the state had a surplus 36 vaccine Lakh Covid-19.
He directed that the level of vaccination in the disadvantaged district increased.
Of the 35 districts, there are 20 districts where the percentage of the first dose of vaccination given is less than 50 percent – the lowest in Nanded (35 percent) and Hingoli (38 percent).
In six districts, the second percentage of doses was less than 15 percent – the lowest in Hingoli (11 percent) and Nanded (12 percent).
Thackeray said that the intensity of infection in those who are vaccinated and mortality can be ignored and hence, there is a need to ensure that more people are vaccinated.
He added that the Covid-19 protocol needs to be strictly followed even though the number of cases is now low.
