Thane: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) MLA Pramod (Raju) Patil targets Kalyan-Dombivli Administration Municipal Corporation (KDMC) for the lack of Covid-19 vaccine in twin cities.
On Saturday, while launching a free vaccination drive for 2000 auto-rickshaw drivers in the region at the Premier Company Ground in Dombivli, Patil asked, “If we can get a vaccine by buying it from a personal agent and can give this vaccine to people, then Why can’t KDMC administration do the same thing? “Patil showed that in the past few days, KDMC had to suspend the vaccination drive several times quoting a lack of vaccines.
“Other cities such as Thane and Navi Mumbai have performed well in vaccinations compared to Kalyan-Dompivli.
We barely heard that they had stopped the vaccination drive due to lack of vaccines.
This shows that the KDMC administration failed to get a vaccine from the country,” he has stated , Patil said that he had managed to buy 2,000 vaccines at a cost of Rs 780 each of his personal funds from a private hospital, which he would give to the automatic rickshaw driver for free.
He also assured that he would set a similar vaccination drive in the future too, depending on the availability of doses.
In the past week, drive vaccination was carried out only once in Kalyan and Dombivli (July 6).
It was suspended for the rest of the days because of the unavailability of sufficient doses.
