PUDUCHERRY: The Union Puducherry area reported less than 50 fresh Coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours because overall reached 1,22,331, a senior health department official said on Monday.
Puduchers and remote areas reported 49 new cases in the last 24 hours ended 10 am on Monday at the end of the 3.142 sample inspection, the health word G Sriramulu.
The union area has recorded 79 new cases on Sundays.
While Puducherry accounted for 31 of 49 fresh infections, 13 and Mahe registered 13 and Yanam did not report a new case, the director said.
There were no new deaths reported from one of the four regions and remained dead at 1,805.
Director of the Ministry of Health said the number of active cases reached 892 – with 192 in hospitals and the remaining 700 in house isolation.
While 86 patients recovered and repatriated for the last twenty-four hours the overall recovery was 1,19,634.
The director said that the Ministry of Health had tested so far 15.84 samples of lakh and found 13.44 lakh samples from them to be negative.
The test level of the test is 1.56 percent today while the death rate and recovery of each is 1.48 percent and 97.80 percent, the director said.
He said that 38,045 health care workers and 22,994 frontline workers were vaccinated against pandemics so far.
He said that 5.46 lakh people who came under the category of senior or those with over 45 years with co morbidity had been inoculated so far.
In all departments it was vaccinated 7.64 lakh people including those who received the second jab so far, he said.
