Pune: The only city patient has so far been infected with the Omicron variant which is currently in institutional quarantine saying he feels very fine.
“My oxygen level has been maintained and I have used vitamin tablets.
I’m fine and can continue my office work every day from the Quarantine Center.
I have brought my laptop and I work from here according to my routine,” he told Tii, Tuesday .
The patient, a professional working, has arrived from Finland in the city and is fine for the first three days.
When he went down with a fever on the fourth day, his friend advised him to be tested.
The patient said, “I have a history of travel so I immediately decided to get a RT-PCR test and the results were positive.
So I qualified myself at home.
My sample was sent to sort to see the Omicron variant.
When it was clear that I had a variant, I was transferred to quarantine Institution.
“All of his contacts from the day of his arrival, including taxi drivers, family and relatives and his colleagues he met, underwent a RT-PCR test according to the protocol.
“At least 25-30 contacts I have undergone a test and fortunately no one tests positive.
There is nothing to worry about, but there is a hype around this variant.
People should not ignore it but take steps immediately when they experience symptoms,” he said.
