PUDUCHERRY: Covid-19 test positivity rate in the Union territory of Puducherry, which crossed 26% in May first week, dropped to 6% on June 8.
Of the 9,092 samples tested on Tuesday, 545 returned positive.
As many as 938 patients recovered bringing down the active cases to 7,147.
Of them, 6,032 are under home isolation and treatment.
Puducherry headquarters reported the maximum fresh cases with 400 followed by Karaikal (112), Yanam (24) and Mahe (9).

The daily deaths also dropped to single digit for the first time in the last 45 days.
Six men from Puducherry (three of them without any comorbidities) succumbed to the infection taking the death toll to 1,644.
Puducherry headquarters reported the maximum fatalities with 1,319 followed by Karaikal (195), Yanam (99) and Mahe (31).
The infection’s fatality rate of the territory stood at 1.5%.
The recovery rate touched the all-time high in the last 45 days.
Of the 1.1 lakh cases reported, 1.01 lakh patients recovered registering a recovery rate of 92%.
Healthcare authorities have so far tested 11.2 lakh swab samples of which 9.65 lakh samples returned negative.
They have so far administered Covid-19 vaccine to 2.92 lakh people (including those who got the second dose).
