PUDUCHERRY: The Union Puducherry area reported less than 50 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday after a gap for more than four months.
The sample front level (5,243) which was tested on Monday reached 0.8%, the lowest in the second wave.
The region reported 42 fresh cases even when 125 patients recovered in the last 24 hours ended at 10 am on Monday lowering the active case to 1,041.
From them, 858 patients were under isolation and home care.
Puducherry headquarters reported a maximum case with 36 followed by Karaikan (3), Yanam (2), and Mahe (1).
Puducherry headquarters has a maximum active case with 829 followed by Karaikan (137), Mahe (55) and Yanam (20).
The area did not report death on Monday.
Toll death stands at 1,778.
Puducherry headquarters have maximum death with 1,415 followed by Karaikan (223), Yanam (104) and Mahe (36).
The mortality rate stands at 1.5%.
Territory has so far reported 1.19 lakh cases where 1.16 lakh cases recovered the recovery rate of 97.7%, which was higher than the national average (97.3%).
The health care authority has so far tested 14.32 lakh swab samples where 12.23 lakh is returned negatively.
They have so far been managed by 6.39 lakh covid-19 vaccine doses (including second dose).
