CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Thursday expanded the coronavirus constraints till June 10 but eliminated the limitation on the amount of passengers in private automobiles and enabled the resumption of elective operations and OPD in hospitals.
The state authorities had enforced extensive curbs, as well as steps such as a weekend lockdown and a night curfew to examine the spread of this disease.
The choice to widen the curbs was shot at a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh here, according to a government announcement.
Before, the state government had expanded the Covid curbs until May 31.
The CM led the resumption of elective operations in both private and government hospitals and also the recovery of inpatient department (OPD) surgeries in light of the progress at the coronavirus scenario, the announcement said.
The state authorities had ceased elective operations on April 12 to guarantee adequate access to drugs and beds oxygen for severe illness cases.
The CM has allowed these to be resumed, subject to the condition that there will, to the present, be no decrease in beds to Level-3 coronavirus patients at hospitals.
The CM also stated while the limitation on the amount of passengers in private vehicles has been eliminated, the limitation in commercial passenger vehicles and taxis will likely be set up currently.
