Covid-19, respiratory patients with a higher risk of increasing air pollution

New Delhi: The overall level of air quality of Delhi and the Capital Region (NCR) slipped to a dangerous level on Friday.
The increase in pollution level leads to various health problems.
Those who suffer from respiratory problems or those whose lungs are compromised in Covid-19 patients are at the risk of higher health complications due to increasing pollution levels.
For Covid-19 patients, the increase in air pollution levels can increase various health complications.
“Many Covid-19 patients already have the function of the lungs compromised.
Their lung tests are not good, which is clearly a tighter pulmonary function.
Because of the pollution, oxygen levels fall,” said Dr.
Ashish Khattar, a senior consultant, internal Medicine, Venkteshwar Hospital.
Furthermore, Dr.
Khattar said that because of air pollution, an irritant increase would cause lung compromation.
“The lungs will starve for more oxygen and then, the lungs will become more panting,” added Dr.
Khattar.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) report, out of 10 people, nine people exhaled polluted air with high pollutant levels, which are dangerous, causing an increase in premature mortality every year.
According to experts, people who have a history of respiratory diseases, such as asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease (ILD) experience health problems.
“With winter settings with Diwali celebration season, we have seen reducing temperature and increased environmental pollution levels.
When this pollutant is inhaled by someone, they cause respiratory symptoms such as increasing cough, shortness of breath, great production and wheezing,” said Dr.
Arunesh Kumar, “said Dr.
Arunesh Kumar, Senior consultant and pulmonology department at Paras Hospital, Gurugram.
Dr.
Kumar further said, “People who have a history of respiratory diseases such as asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, began to pay attention to the deterioration symptoms.
So, it is important that maintenance care for this disease is strictly obeyed and one must visit a doctor if They see that the symptoms have begun to deteriorate.
“Dr.
Shuchin Bajaj, who is the founding director of the Ujala Cygnus Group of Hospitals said that with winter conditions, dust and particulate material from vehicle pollution and smoke from crackers have caused conditions such as smoke.
“A dangerous mix of pollutants in the air also increases the risk of lung cancer, just like smoking cigarette poisons.
For children who grow in highly polluted cities such as Delhi and Gurugram, the impact of this dangerous air can be a disaster for those who Not developing the lungs and respiratory systems, “said Dr.
Bajaj.
He further said that a significant surge was seen in people who reported respiratory problems in such weather conditions and environments, with general complaints including coughing and shortness of breath.
“It is known that fireworks lighting releases a mixture of toxic gases which include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and manganese particles and cadmium in the atmosphere.
This means that the population of the city is practically inhaling toxic air, which is very interesting.
It affects the health of their lungs.
There will be no surprises if our lung department will be filled with patients, “said Dr.
Bajaj.
Talking about the precautions to be taken, Dr.
Kumar said, “We must have a balanced diet rich in protein and avoid outdoor activities during extreme pollution time, between morning 7-10 in the morning and at night from 5-9 at night.
“He further instructs that if there is certain inhalers and tablets, someone must obey them.
“People who do not have previous respiratory diseases have to monitor their symptoms and once again, try and avoid exercises outdoors during the peak poelash hours.
Someone must exercise inside and do yoga.
This is a very good way to keep the lungs -Paru you match, “he added.
