NEW DELHI: Rural regions were worst hit with the next wave of Covid-19 in comparison with urban centers and India accounted for more than half of daily international cases for seven days in May because of spike in diseases in rural areas, said that the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in its own’pandemic pointers’ published on Friday.
As a part of its data compendium on general environmental problems, published on the eve of this World Environment Day, the pointers demonstrate that 53 percent of new cases and 52 percent of deaths from the nation last month have been listed in rural areas.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has seriously exposed India’s health care system.
