Hyderabad: While 3,341 people in the state received hospital care from 39,520 active Covid-19 patients, officials said most of them, especially those who received oxygen treatment, found infected after being hospitalized for their other disease.
Overall, 1,093 of 3,341 patients received care at a government hospital and the rest in a private hospital.
The authorities said very few of these patients were first tested and were then accepted for Covid-19 treatment.
“These patients have been received in hospitals for various chronic diseases such as kidneys and heart-related problems.
During the procedure, they were found to have been infected with Covid-19.
For these patients, the risk is always high,” said a senior health official.
Nearly 100 patients received extensive care at the Gandhi Hospital managed by the government.
Everything has comorbidity.
“The current testing policy does not require patient testing before any procedure.
But we are conducting tests and treat them and do various other procedures,” Dr.
M M King Rao, Gandhi Hospital Supervisor, explained.
