Covid-19: Sri Lanka to tighten the inter-provincial trip ban

Colombo: Sri Lanka announced on Friday to enforce the inter-provincial travel ban since national locking was implemented in August.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed the authority to examine traffic on the provincial border, considering a national holiday that falls on October 19 and 20, and a broad weekend, the President’s Office said in a statement.
Sri Lanka raised his national key two weeks ago when the authorities claimed that the number of deaths and infections that subsided after the country suffered a deadly third wave of coronavirus surge.
The number of deaths below 1,000 at the end of April has now passed 13,400.
After several weeks of resistance, the government handed over the wishes of health authorities by imposing the lock on August 20.
At the end of August, the number of deaths reached 3,000 per day on certain days which was said by the health authorities fell to only 21 on Thursday.

Asela Gunawardane said that the number of Covid-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has dropped 50 percent.
Commenting on the appointment of the kuncian two weeks ago, he said: “It must be said that the behavior of people in the last few days is unsatisfactory”.
