Coimbatore: The state government has started another sero survey to determine the percentage of populations that have been exposed to Covid-19 and has developed immunity to the Coronavirus.
About 25,000 samples from all 38 countries will be collected for surveys and work starting on Monday.
Apart from being infected in the second wave, this survey will show those who develop antibodies from vaccination.

S Selvavinayagam said the state decided to conduct a sero survey itself for the third time.
“The sample size of each district will vary according to the population and location where the sample is drawn randomly selected,” he added.
Thirty blood samples will be collected from each cluster.
For example, they have decided to test 42 clusters in Coimbatore with 30 people each giving a sample size of 1,260 people.
The sample will be examined the presence of IgG antibodies.
The team will visit each cluster including lab technicians, villages or urban health nurses, medical officer blocks and health inspectors.
“The team collection sample will ask the survey participants if they have been infected, vaccinated or not,” said the former Director of Public Health and members of the Covid-19 task force in the State of Dr.
Kolandaswamy.
