Brussels: The European Union infectious disease body on Thursday urged countries to push forward with their main Coronavirus vaccination program and play the need for booster shooting to ward off Delta variants among the general public.
The Center for Prevention and Control of European Diseases said that the approved vaccine was “currently very effective” in limiting the impact of Covid-19.
“His priority must now vaccinate all individuals who meet the requirements that have not completed the recommended vaccination course,” he said.
After starting to run slowly to the European vaccine, the European Union Executive Branch, the European Commission, announced this week that an average of 70 percent of adults was vaccinated completely in the 27th block of countries.
But the national vaccination rate varies, with Bulgaria and Romania very slowly with their programs.
On Wednesday, France became the first UE country that began managing the booster Shots of Covid-19 vaccines to people over 65 and those who had a healthy health condition as a Delta variant spread in the country.
Spanish health authorities are considering similar actions.
ECDC said additional shots must be considered for people “with a very weak immune system” if the first shot did not protect them quite well, but that “there is no urgent need for the administration of a vaccine booster dose for individuals who are fully vaccinated by the general population.” General for protection from vaccines to decrease over time.
For now, the vaccine authorized in the EU and the US continues to offer very strong protection against severe diseases and their deaths, but their ability to prevent infection decreases sharply due to a delta surge between nursing homes and others.
However, many countries struggle to manage the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and the world health organization have called for the moratorium of the booster and also urged the government to contribute vaccines to countries in need.
Spanish vaccine council recommends Wednesday that the third shot is given to people with a pressed immune system, such as transplant recipients.
The national and regional health authorities will debate the problem on September 8 at their weekly pandemic meetings.
EU Commission spokesman Stefan de Keersmaimecker said on Thursday that the block had enough shots if scientific evidence showed that booster might be widely needed.
He said that Brussels recently concluded contracts with bird-pfizer vaccine makers for 1.8 billion additional doses from 2021 to 2023, and a second contract with a modern 150 million shots for blocks, which have a population of around 450 million people.
“We have taken the steps needed to be ready,” De Keersmaecker said.
