Mangaluru: Three Rural Talang – Putture, Belthangady, and Sulthangady – Dakshina District Kannada has recorded only seven new cases in the past week, testimony for a sharp decline in new infections.
While Putture only recorded a case in seven days starting November 10, Belthangady and Sullia each recorded two and four cases.
Two cases in Belthangady Taluk came on November 10 and in six days after (until Wednesday) there were no new cases.
Meanwhile, no one tested the positive infection in the past four days.
Besides only having one active case, Taluk only records one case in the past week.
Of the 120 active cases in the Dakshina district of Kannada, 62 are in the city of Mangaluru, while 24 comes from the rural areas of Mangaluru Taluk.
Health Department officials say Belthangady, Putture and Sulti Taluk will be free of viruses immediately if the trend continues.
Dr.
Ashok H, District Nodal Officer for Covid-19, told TII’s Ti test level test in Belthangady and Pattture Taluk each of 0.02% and 0.07% in the past week.
“Cases fell sharply in the villages of Dakshina Kannada,” said Dr.
Ashok.
“Actually, there are no active cases in SULLIA and Putture for days until some cases are recorded in the last week.

Only in Mangaluru Taluk, especially in the city, on average eight cases Reported every day.
“While the district has carried out 33,337 tests in the past week, only 88 cases, including 10 of other districts, were reported, taking the test level of test to less than 0.3%.
On Wednesday, the district has registered the lowest increase in everyday case since the second wavelight, with only six who returned positive for infection.
The number of cases in the district has fallen from 31,090 in May to 1,176 in October.
As on Thursday, 219 cases have been reported in November.
