Covid-19 Throwing Shadows at Laxmi Puja in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Buzz and the usual excitement around Laxmi Puja, one of the main country festivals, lost again this year due to a pandemic.
After a quiet puja durga, the capital saw a low celebration – but another big festival on Tuesday.
Less than Pre-Covid Puja Pandal time was built throughout the state.
“Like last year, the festive spirit lost this year too.
We have reduced the celebration by 90% and regulates the puja only to maintain the tradition of staying alive.
Previously, all Bapuji Nagar was first illuminated on this occasion.
But this year, you can hardly feel That Puja was being held, “said Amar Narayan Das, a member of the Bapuji Nagar Committee Laxmi Puja.
With a pandemic that has changed how the Festival is celebrated and the Covid-19 sidewalk forced in the state, people cannot participate in the pujas society.
Just like Durga Puja, the height of Laxmi’s idol is also limited to four legs.
The ritual is held behind the scenes.
Shops are not permitted to be arranged around the Puja Mandaps this year.
“We were surprised that there was no enthusiasm among people to Laxmi Puja.
Last year, people were a little more interested than now,” Sidharth de said, a resident of Bapujar Nagar.
Laxmi Puja was held at least 50 places in the capital, but this year, many Puja Committees have decided to reduce celebrations or skip puja at all.
