New Delhi: The variant of the SARS-COV2 concern has been found in 174 districts in this country with the highest number in Maharashtra, Delivery, Punjab, Telangana, West Bengal and Gujarat, the UNI Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
The alarming (VOC) detected by the SARS-COV-2 Indian (Insacog) genomic consortium in community samples is Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta.
B.1.617.2.1 (AY.1) or commonly known as Delta Plus variant which indicates a Delta variant with additional mutations.
Lineage B.1.617, the first observed in Maharashtra, was associated with an unusual increase in observed in several countries.
Now found in many states in India, the Ministry of Health said.
Insacog is a national multi-agency consortium of the sequencing genome frame laboratory (RGSLS).
