Pune: Commissioner of the Saurabh Division Rao on Thursday said the district weekly ponytites were 3.3% for the period of 12 to 18 August – 0.5% less than 3.8% last week but 1.36% higher than the country’s average 2.44%.
In accordance with the district health department data, Covid-19 Wpr for the limit of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in a seven-day period was 2.5%.
It was 3.2% within the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limit (PCMC) and 3.9% in rural areas of Pune.
Health officials claimed there was a decline in cases in this seven period.
According to data, 6,325 new cases were reported last week against 6.008 this week.
This week’s active case count was 7,992, compared with 8,992 last week.
The death rate for the August 12-18 period in the district was 1.6%.
Rao said the weekly front pace under-4% below was a good sign before the weekly Covid review meeting, to be chaired by Deputy Chief of Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday.
“Local administration ensures that citizens strictly follow the Covid protocol,” he said, adding that the effort was made to bring down regency WPR.
Senior officials told TOI that every new announcement related to relaxation was impossible after a review of this week’s review.
Covid mitigation focus continues to be in rural areas in the district; Nearly 80,000 tests were carried out within a period of seven days.
“But the WPR and the total number of new cases added this week were less than seven days earlier in the district,” said a health official.
Health department officials stated that they had purchased a faster (mouse) test antigen kit to increase testing in rural areas.
The Public Ministry of Health spends almost RS22.5 Crore to get 25 Kit Mouse Lakh for the country to increase testing, especially in the district that is a concern, ahead of possible third waves.
