Sri Lanka’s Wicketkeeper-Batsman Kusal Perera has been positively tested for Coronavirus novel ahead of the limited serial team against South Africa at home next month, the Country Cricket Council said on Monday.
PERA, which will be 31 years old on Tuesday, named Captain Sri Lanka from Sri Lanka in May in a major overhaul after disappointing results.
Pera was set to return to training after being ruled out with a shoulder injury ahead of the excess overs series against India but now had to spend more time between the sidelines.
He will be isolated for two weeks according to the health protocol in the country, placing him hesitant for the series of houses against South Africa starting September 2 in Colombo.
“He was found positively during the PCR test conducted on the players yesterday (Sunday),” said Sri Lanka Cricket in a statement.
South Africa will play three international international followed by the identical amount of twenty matches, which will begin on September 10.
