Pune: The number of people (506) recovered from Covid-19 continued to remain above a new case (380) in the Pune Metropolitan area on Friday, reducing the active kaselity to 3,941, which was the lowest since June last year.
Both limits of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, as well as rural parts, recorded more recovery than new cases on Friday.
While 297 patients recovered in rural areas, 113 were declared cured within the limit of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and 93 in the Pimpri Chinchwad area.
The number of new cases is below 100 at the PMC limit and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), while rural areas add 210 new patients.
A total of 1,846 patients were treated in various hospitals throughout the Pune Metropolitan area (PMR), while 2,095 patients were in house isolation, a report released by district health workers stated.
Among the fatality of the day, rural areas were not recorded in the last 24 hours, while each one was reported in the PMC limit and the Chinchwad Pimpri area.
The region did more than 18,000 tests on Friday, where more than 7,100 samples were tested in the rural part, while more than 5,000 tests were carried out at the PMC and PCMC limits respectively.
Total testing of samples in this area increased above 81.34 lakh.
