Bengaluru: Nearly 75.4 lakh of 1 Crore targeted 18 years and above in urban district Bengaluru has been given with at least one vaccine dose against Covid-19, recording coverage of 75% since the campaign began in January.
The Bengaluru urban district consists of the BBMP area and coexist villages.
While 65 lakh (or 69%) of 94.4 lakh people over 18 years have been vaccinated with at least one dose in the BBMP jurisdiction, other districts have reached an amazing 97% coverage that conquered 10.3 lakh 10.6 lakh of 10 , 6 Lakh targeted people.
Bengaluru vaccination coverage is much higher than 58% of state achievement.
In the Bengaluru urban district, vaccine equipment to private hospitals has played a major role in increasing coverage.
J Manjunath, Deputy Commissioner, Urban District Bengaluru, told TII that 3% of unbaccinated people could be infecteal covid waiting for their turn to take a vaccine.
“We will soon reach coverage of more than 100% because the district sees people coming from other countries too.
The number of people who qualify is estimated,” he explained.
