Covid Bed Residential in West Bengal at 2.7%

Kolkata: With Covid-19 cases in the country remain stable for several weeks now, the State Health Department has decided to scale the bottom of the covid bed in a government-owned hospital.
At present, the covid residential bed in the state is only around 2.7%.
Even as all hospitals now treat non-covid patients, a large piece of bed in many hospitals is still reserved for covid patients.
The government has also decided to reduce the number of safe houses in the district.
Baring one or two secure houses in each district, the rest must be closed for now, said a circular Monday of the State Health Department.
“Daily positive cases are now in the stagnant phase for several weeks now after a slight increase around the Puja Durga Festival.
We have guarded tabs on this trend for several weeks and now feel that the need for de-reserve some covid beds for the benefit of non-covid patients, “said a source at Swasthya Bhawan.
Despite a slight increase during pre-Durga Puja phase when the daily case had touched 1000-marks on several days, the number of everyday cases had swayed around 700-800 marks since the first week of July.
On Monday, the country reported 615 positive cases with a 26,000-strange test.
In Kolkata, the daily case has floated around 200-mark for the week now.
On Monday, the number was reduced to 176.
“We will continue to continue a number of CCUs, HTu and trigger and a common bed provided for covid patients.
The rest will be converted to a non-covid bed for now, “said the source.
In details such as the number of beds to be converted to non-covid unfinished.
The decision will be taken in consultation with the National Health Mission MD for Kolkata Hospitals and medical colleges while in the district it will be resolved through consultation with DMS.
At present, 11 government hospitals in Kolkata take care of Covid patients have around 3,000-plus covid sleep.
The health department source shows the peaks and special centers such as Infectious Diseases & General Buying (ID & BG) Hospitals and CNCI Rajarhat may not need to reduce Covid-19 sleep for now.
“We have between 40-50 patients who are treated on certain days where around 20 will be in the CCU.
Even as this number is not much compared to the type of humongous patient surge that we face during the peak of the second wave, we will continue to keep 300 covid beds that we are walking, “said Anima Hallder, Head of the BG ID & Hospital.
Hospital, though, has been told not to move or disassemble equipment and other gadgets installed for covid patients.
