CHENNAI: In an effort to match the oxygen requirements of Covid-19 sufferers at rural Tamil Nadu, a community of volunteers, NGOs, entrepreneurs, along with health care specialists come together to establish the’Breathe Tamil Nadu’ initiative.
The initiative was released under the Covid India Campaign based by members of both ICATT Foundation and alumni of all IIT-Madras.
Besides supplying oxygen concentrators and beds, the initiative also boosts local direction through community involvement.
By shifting the knowhow and source requirements, the system is bridging the urban-rural split in handling Covid.
Thus far, ten oxygen concentrators are deployed in Tiruvannamalai district to install’Community Oxygen Centers’ from the cities of Cheyyar, Thellar, and Karapattu.
Across the nation, the Covid India Campaign has launched 17 community oxygen facilities from the month of May alone.
The platform offers community leaders with the chance to encourage and deal with the requirements of men and women in the rural areas who do not have ready access to health centers.
Rather than simply committing oxygen concentrators, the stage tries to enable local communities in identifying and understanding the requirement for various infrastructure demands.
Present beds are converted to oxygen beds by providing high flow oxygen concentrator gear, which can be carefully sourced and selected.
Dr Saravana Kumar, head of emergency medicine at Dr Mehta’s Hospitals and federal secretary to the Society for Emergency Medicine of India (SEMI), stated,”When patients have been treated oxygen deterioration of the illness can be prevented.
