Chennai: For the 11th day in a row, the number of new Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu declined on Sunday.
With 1.630 positive testing, the state case exceeded 26 lakh-mark.
From them, 98% recovered from infection after treatment.
This includes 1,827 other people, which are repatriated from the Covid registry on Sundays.
The level of health recovery has resulted in a continuous decline in the number of active cases.
TN currently has 19,171 patients undergoing treatment.
However, 19,171 infected people have given up on this disease.
This is the third highest in this country next to Maharashtra (1,35,962) and Kar Nataka (37,145).
On Sunday, 23 people died of Covid-19.
Most of them have comorbidity such as diabetes or hypertension.
The fatality ratio of TN cases has dropped to 1.3%.
This means that for every 100 confirmed cases, at least one dies from the virus.
It was close to 2 during the second wave peak.
Coimbatore once again topped the Covid infection graph in the country with 198 new cases.
However, in the district, the case has fallen.
After almost 25 days, the number of daily infections fell below 200 marks.
Likewise, even in Chennai (177 new cases), the rate of infection declined.
The pioneering level of district test (TPR) is 0.8 – less than the country’s number 1.0.
Nagapattinam (45) and Thanjavur (108) are the only districts in TN to have TPR above 2.
In Chennai, KN Nehru, Minister of State Administration, on Sunday inaugurated vaccinations in the Doorstep campaign for them, who were over 80 .
According to the official data presented by it, there were 1.6 senior citizens of Lakh, who were above 80 in Chennai and 90,000 of them had received their vaccines.
“A total of 15 vehicles have been deployed in each Corennai Corporation ward with the help of the Rotary Club to vaccinate the remaining senior citizens,” Nehru said.
On Sunday 2,21,445 vaccination was carried out by taking the total amount of vaccinated people to 2,63,42,069.
