Mumbai: Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra fell to a one-month low on Friday while the city reported less than 900 cases for the second day in a row.
The state reported 13,840 cases, the lowest since January 3 when 12,160 cases were reported.
Although cases have fallen, there is little increase in Covid deaths reported in the state.
81 deaths were reported against 75 deaths listed the day before.
The Minister of Health Rajesh Tope on Friday said according to their predictions, the third wave will recede in the state around the first week of March.
“Cases have begun to report a decline in most large districts in the state, but there are certain districts who report their current peak and our estimate is that in early March the third wave will begin to recede,” Tope said.
Meanwhile, the city added 846 cases and toll daily continued to be in one digit.
The BMC update said 44,323 tests were carried out throughout the city, placing the test level of testing less than 2%.
The 15-day review of the omicron-covid wave showed a critical case which dropped dramatically up to 390 on Friday from 584 on January 21.
