Mumbai: Covid-19 City fell for a third continuous day to 13,648 on Monday, down from 19,474 and 20,318 on the previous two days, reflection of the ‘Sunday effect’ because fewer tests were carried out over the weekend.
The calculation was 30% lower on Monday since the previous day.
The state counting fell by almost 25% in a 24 hour period, again because less tests were carried out on Sundays (the results of diagnostics were collected a day later).
On Monday, Maharashtra registered 33,470 cases by opposing 44,388 the previous day.
‘Real cases may be 2 or 3 times the reported amount’ in Mumbai, while 71,619 tests were carried out on Friday, the amount fell to 68,249 on Saturday and 59,242 on Sunday.
In Maharashtra, the daily number of tests fell from 2.02 lakh on Saturday to 1.73 lakh on Sunday.
“The decline in the case (on Monday) is clearly due to fewer tests carried out,” said Dr.
Rahul Pandit, member of the State Task Force in Covid-19.
The cumulative number of the state was closer to 70 lakh (69.53.514), while Mumbai touched 9.26,170.
After five days of recording more than 1,000 inpatient, daily acceptance fell to 798 on Monday.
Civil officials said that 21% of Covid beds were occupied.
Experts say undercounting cases because the many use of home testing kits are also responsible for everyday numbers that do not reflect the actual city situation.
“Real numbers can be twice or three times reported,” said a citizenship official.
The level of mortar is 23%, although a 30% decline was reported four days ago, is a less indication of tests carried out.
Titly covid daily on Monday, although lower than other days in this third omicron wave, it is still higher than the highest calculation during the delta wave (11,206) in April 2021.
“We have to wait for the calculation on Tuesday before drawing every conclusion , “said Dr.
Pandit.
“We see more inpatient care, and while ICU acceptance also increases, the number of patients in the ventilator is still low.
This week is very important in Mumbai,” he added.
On Monday, 31 new cases of Omicron were reported from the state, taking a count of confirmed cases because the variant was 1,247.
The Minister of Health of the Mansukh Mandiviya has a review of five countries, including Maharashtra, who reported the highest cases.
The state government told the center that despite a large number of cases, health infrastructure was not under pressure.
“Of the total patients in the state, only 3% need an ICU bed or oxygen supply.
The state has an adequate infrastructure and occupancy low,” said Health Minister Rajesh Tope.
There are nearly 38,000 ICU beds in the state, and on Monday, only 1,711 are occupied.
Likewise, from the oxygen bed 1.34 lakh, only 5,400 occupied.
Tope also said that the third wave peak can be recorded at the end of the month.
This center has asked the state to increase testing and increase vaccination coverage.
“We have directed the district collector to take an aggressive stand since then against people who are not vaccinated,” Tope said.
He also said the country’s daily participants have crossed 25-30% and which is why there is a need to impose restrictions to slow down the spread of the virus.
With a new central disposal policy that was kicked on Monday, the number of people returned from the hospital saw a steep increase, pushing the level of recovery.
29,671 people were sent home, including 27,214 from Mumbai.
