Ahmedabad: Beware, West Ahmedabad residents, especially those who live in Bodakdev, Jodhpur, Thaltej, SG Highway and Sindhu Bhavan Road.
There was a steep increase in Covid cases recently, forcing citizenship officials to examine party plots, community rooms and clubs in the highway to ensure that guests and host at the wedding and family gatherings followed the Covid safety protocol.
AMC officials must issue a warning in two places after finding guests without masks and breaking the rules of a safe distance.
“We also have told the local police that if NRG or anyone who should be in quarantine for seven days was found to attend a function so he must be ordered under the epidemic disease law,” added AMC officials.
A civilian senior official revealed that there were 108 active cases in the city, where 67 was reported from the west.
Each AMC health flight team has been submitted a list of individuals who are quarantined, most of whom are in the West, especially Jodhpur, Thaltej and Bodakdev, officials said.
In some locations, AMC also installed vaccination camps to ensure that guests took their second dose.
“Nearly 80% of 25 new Covid cases registered in the city on Tuesday came from the southwest, northwest and western zone,” AMC official said.
He added, “We also took this opportunity to vaccinate those who did not bother taking their second vaccine dose.” City health officials claim they visited party plots in Bodakdev, Jodhpur, Thaltej, SG Highway and on Jalan Sindhu Bhavan twice since Monday night.
