Covid Case Up, but Jabs weakens the severity in Vadodara

Vadodara: weird as might be heard, but this has been witnessed in the city of Vadodara, as the majority of new Covid-19 cases reported since September 20 are people who have received vaccine doses.
But there is no death and no patients need intensive care.
Apart from vaccination, some experts and public health authorities have repeatedly warned that the right Covid-19 behavior must be followed.
And the data available from Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) is a clear indication of that.
More than 66% of the 33 cases recorded in the city from September 20 to October 5 are people who are fully vaccinated.
At the other end, only 18% of these positive patients are needed inpatient and none of them have serious conditions that need intensive care.
Dr.
Hiten Kareliya said that this was expected and proved that vaccinated people did not have severe infections and there were no ventilator requirements or bipap engine support.
“I will consider this a positive news,” he said.
“Data reveals that there is no reason to let our guards go down and Covid the appropriate behavior must be followed.
Social distance may be difficult because it needs to travel and work, but we can always wear a mask and follow hand hygiene,” Kareliya said.
He said that if the corresponding behavior of Covid was strictly followed for several weeks by all, the pandemic would avoid us.
VMC Medical Officer (Health) Dr.
Devesh Patel said that some people would expect to be infected because of the efficacy of the vaccine of around 70%.
At the same time, he added that the sample was too small and no group was controlled to compare data.
Patel added that data is also an indication that people still need to follow the Covid-19 guidelines.
“People must understand that while there may be a serious Coronavirus case, but they may only be unfortunate to become patients like that,” he said.
