Covid, Cast Shadow Polling in the K’taka Removal Cabinet

Bengaluru: The ministerial candidate at BJP might have to wait more time because the party’s leadership has decided to delay the cabinet reshuffle given the surge in Covid cases and the election of the assembly announced in five states, including Uttar Pradesh.
It was said that BJP HIGH Command had provided the future to the Main Minister of Basavaraj Bommai to withdraw his cabinet and he would make a reshuffle after three days Chintan Baithak, which is scheduled to begin on January 7.
While the Kuningan party is to evaluate the performance of the ministers in Baithak, Bommai is expected to replace several senior ministers with new faces after Sankranti on January 14.
However, the high command decided to postpone Baithak without a limit because of the third wave of Covid-19 requested by the state government to clamp the sidewalk, including weekend hours.
Meanwhile, the Indian Election Commission announced the above polls and four other states, and the BJP leadership reportedly decided to place a cabinet reshuffle in Karnataka on March 10 when the election ended.
“BJP has delayed all political activities because Covid and it applies to the cabinet reshuffle as well.
The high command and minister’s chairmen will discuss this and receive calls after the election of the Assembly,” said Secretary General of BJP N Ravikumar.
BJP Source said the ruling party also prepared the expected BBMP election in April even when the state government had decided to submit a written statement before the Supreme Court seeking civilian officers to carry out the earliest civil elections.
The Apex Court has posted a petition that is looking for BBMP polls to be discarded and the verdict is expected immediately.
“High orders cannot give permission to expand the cabinet or reshuffle until the BBMP poll and the ZP-TP selection ends in April-May because it can affect the party’s prospects in this election,” said BJP official.
It has left many in the party frustrated because the decision to delay the cabinet reshuffle will also postpone the district allocation to ministers.
Some ministers learned to voice their concerns in the cabinet meeting that they could not even hold officials in the district because they had no authority to refer to the meeting even though they had been allocated to the district to oversee Covid management.
This leads to friction, especially in districts such as Bengaluru Urban and Ramanagara where high financial and political pairs.
“The ministers have been responsible for Covid and works under the Amrut scheme.
We do the best in a limited scope,” said CN Ashwath Narayan, who was responsible for Ramanagara.
