New Delhi: After a large amount of infection in Pathanamthitta Kerala, especially among those who have received a dose of Anti-Covid Jab, the Center has asked the state to review the data and learn whether the gap between the two doses needs to be reduced.
The central team that visited a recent country had made observations after finding the district reported 14,974 alarming infections after the first dose and 5.042 after two doses.
District uses more injections of covishield.
“It’s more reviewed by the state.
We need to know when that person tests positive after taking a second dose and if he has a mild or heavy infection and hospitalization needed.
We have been looking for this information from other districts too,” said Sujeet Singh, Director, director National Disease Control Center.
While Kerala has reported a large number of cases, the government also studied cases through the genome sequencing.
The state has a higher level of vaccination coverage with around 54% of people after receiving the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine while more than 23% are fully immunized.
However, the case of high re-infection in the state was released from two vaccine doses.
There is also concern that continuous high infection rates with a large number of infected and vulnerable people will lead to a larger number of cases.
