Chennai: Tamil Nadu reported 1,964 new cases on Wednesday when Chennai won the district slot with the highest number of cases for the first time since May 25.
The city reported 243 new cases, 34 cases entered on Tuesday.
Chennai Chengalpet neighbor reported 140 cases compared to 105 cases on Tuesday.
Tiruvallur reported an increase from 79 to 98 new cases.
Overall, the state added 71 cases more than the fresh case on Tuesday.
This case moved to 25.81 lakh.
And the death toll, including 28 deaths reported on Wednesday, reached 34,395.
In the end, there were 20,382 people who underwent treatment for viral infections.
Chennai, Salem, Trichy and Nagapattinam each reported three deaths, while Coimbatore, Thanjavur and Tiruppur respectively reported two deaths.
While 10 districts report one death, all other districts in the country have no death.
