Chennai: Greater Chennai Corporation data on Covid active cases in the city for the past four days does not match the numbers of state health bulletins.
The Civic body said active cases had increased from 1,646 at 9 to 1,680 on July 12.
This means that new cases of the city between July 9 and 12 beyond recovery and death.
However, the state bulletin shows that the number of recovery is higher than new cases on four days.
For example, on July 9, TN’s health bulletin has a new number of cases in the city in 180.
But corporate data said 247 new cases were recorded that day.
Similarly, corporate data showed 262 new cases on July 10, 225 on July 11 and July 23 on July 12.
However, Bulletin Health TN recorded 174 cases on July 10, 171 cases on July 11 and 16 on July 12.
In the state health bulletin, the number of active cases brought to the next day was not in the figures the previous day.
For example, the bulletin on July 9 said Chennai had 1,646 active cases.
But the July 10 bulletin said the city had 1,734 active cases on July 9.
Similar differences were found in bulletins 11 and 12 July.
However, the revised calculation matches the trend of increasing active cases even though it is recovering.
Between 9 and 12 July, TN’s health bulletin shows that the amount of recovery is higher than new cases, which will show a decline in active cases.
A Twitter user has shown this difference over the past four days, marking the official corporation handle.
