New Delhi: The central expert team visiting Kerala has recently shown several irregularities in handling the state government of the Covid situation.
The central team of six members has visited eight Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Alappuzha, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram.
All of these districts have witnessed the trend of the increase in Covid infection for the past few days.
Covid Lapses National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) Director Dr.
Sujeet Singh, who led the central team, said that the detention zone (CZ) in the district was not made in accordance with the central guidelines.
“Perimeter control and cordoning from CZS is not tight.
Also, there is no buffer zone that surrounds CZ,” said Singh.
In the report to the center, the team said that up to 80 percent of cases were permitted in house isolation, but the guidelines for house isolation were not followed by the district.
“The absence of compliance with the isolation of suspect houses or cases and quarantine contacts resulted in the inability to contain infections.
High-house transmission, often causes a cluster,” Singh said.
The detention strategy relies on passive supervision and the pre-structured detention zone limit i.e.
Panchayats and law enforcement regarding the number of people who attend less social and religious meetings.
The report came when developing countries with a protracted Covid crisis, adding more than 20,000 infections on the kasel almost every day.
Alarming parameters, the central report also shows that the level of testing the test (TPR) in this district is quite high.
TPR was found to range from 10 to 14 percent and in some regions, it was 15 to 20 percent, he said.
