New Delhi: With Covid Pandemic Deferring the Important Mission of Isro, the third lunar mission in the country Chandrayaan-3 Now “is likely to be launched during the third quarter of 2022 assuming a normal workflow for further”, the minister of equality for the Department of Space Jitendra Singh Wednesday.
Chandrauran-3 is a specific mission of the landing-and-rover that will land on the surface of the moon as a chandrain-2 orbit for functional and take a picture of 100km from orbit moon.
In a written reply on the question at Lok Sabha, Jitendra Singh said the realization of Chandrayaan-3 was underway when the previous work was hampered by a pandemic.
“However, all possible works in the work of home mode are taken even during the locking period.
The realization of Chandrayaan-3 continues after the start of the period unlocked and is in the stage of realization due,” Singh said in his reply to LS.
The minister said the realization of Chandraan-3 involves various processes, including finalization of configuration, the realization of subsystems, integration, detailed level of space level and a number of special tests to evaluate system performance on earth.
Chandrauran-3 mission, which is important for Isru because it will show India’s ability to make a landing for further interglanet mission, previously scheduled to be launched last year.
However, covid restrictions triggered by locking in Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, where the main ISRO centers located, delayed the mission per year.
Now, the launch of the Lunar Mission, is scheduled for this year, suspended until next year.
Chandrauran-2, which is aimed at landing rover in the South Pole Moon which has not been mapped, launched on July 22, 2019.
