Mangaluru: For the second year in a row, the Subrahman Kuku Temple in Dakshina Kannada Regency has decided not to hold ‘Ede Snana’ – a ritual of the people rolling over pradeam offered to the god of the Chair – because Covid-19 restrictions and detection of omicron variants of the virus in the country part.
Temple Executive Officer Ningaiiah said TOI that ‘Ede Snana’ will be held during Champa Shashti Festival on the 7th, 8 and 9.
“The Candi Committee decided not to allow ‘Ede Snana’ this year and ensure a strict implementation of Covid-19 guidelines announced by the government, “he said.
Temple Management Committee President Mohanram Sulli stressed that the district government has directed the temple not to be held by ‘Ede Snana’ this year.
This temple is 105km from Mangaluru.
In 2019, more than 800 people were offered ‘Ede Snana’ on the three-day event.
“We have followed the Government Covid Guidelines, but the problem is an effective way to apply when the temple receives more than 6,000 enthusiasts of the day.
We have insisted that the people must be fully vaccinated.
In addition, the vaccination center has been opened at the temple location,” said Ningaiiah.
The Kukke Temple which has the highest collection of revenue in Karnataka is closed for the people because of the class of 21.
April, the people are allowed to enter from July 5 with restrictions.
Following Unlock Guidelines, the temple is allowed by the people only for Darshan and Mangalaarati Seva.
Then, all Sevas is permitted, but with restrictions.
