New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has identified 791 women whose widows due to Pandemic Covid-19, and have submitted a report to the city government to ensure their rehabilitation.
The Commission has also conducted a social survey of all these women to help the government in the process of rehabilitation of social surveys carried out at the grassroots level by DCW through the Mahila Pancayat network.
The Delhi government has launched “Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana” where the ex-Gratia RS 50,000 will be given to those who have lost family members to Coronavirus.
This scheme also provides an additional RS 2,500 retirement per month if the deceased is the only breadwinner.
Social surveys conducted by DCW will increase women’s access identified with the benefits of this scheme.
The Commission still identifies other women who are widows during Covid’s pandemic and will submit an additional list to the government, he added.
According to a survey report, 774 (97.85 percent of 791 women) have at least one child while 360 women have three to five children.

From the list of 791 women identified, 734, which contributed 92.79 percent, were in the bracket aged 18-60 years, while the rest were senior citizens.
Nearly 191 women fell in the age group 18-35, the survey was found.
Of the 791 women, 721 is a housewife, while the rest work as domestic workers, workers, small business owners and private employees and governments.
Nearly 28.57 percent of women do not have a source of income while almost 60 percent of women have a monthly income of less than Rs 15,000, found.
It also found that 597 women have not been vaccinated until the date of the survey.
“The Commission strongly believes that it is very important to get these women to vaccinate priority.
The Commission has recommended the government to issue orders to district judges to get these women being vaccinated,” DCW said.
The Commission said the scheme by the Delhi government will come very useful for the rehabilitation of this woman and its benefits must reach them.
The Head of DCW Swati Maliwal said, “We got our Mahila Panchayat team to go to the door to the door to identify widows and can identify 791 women like that.
