Covid Down, NMC plans a new project, cutting costs, finishing work

Nagpur: With Covid-19 Plummeting case, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) plans a new development project, steps to reduce expenses and delayed jobs.
The Civic body has planned the construction of 650 flats for the economically weaker part (EWS) at a cost of only RS8-9 Lakh, along with subsidies and loans under the Pradhan Mantri Wear Yojana (PMAY).
Covid cases have been under 30 since the beginning of the month, and in one digit in the last eight days.
Commissioner of the city of Radhakrishnan B told TII, “We do not have time to look into new development projects or speed up delayed work etc.
when containing Covid-19 cases, prevent death and more people in priority.
Fortunately, we can return to Routine works from the beginning of May.
Various new projects have been planned and worked continuously accelerated.
“Radhakrishnan said,” We are planning a flat scheme for EWS under PMAY in Wanjara.
We plan to provide 30 sq m flat on RS8-9 Lakh.
on The private sector, this will cost RS13-15 lakh.
“The Head of Civic added that the meeting had been held with officials of various banks for financial closure.
“We will send proposals to the government who are looking for RS2.5 Lakh subsidies.
The recipient must bear RS1.5-2.5 lakh.
The remaining RS4 Lakh will be in the form of a loan.
It is very important for the success of the project.
We will get beneficiaries and it will be convenient for They if we facilitate loans before the beginning of construction.
Also, the NMC will be able to complete construction quickly with these funds.
“Even though this scheme was carried out by the government in 2014, NMC had not developed a single scheme.
If successful, the NMC scheme will be the cheapest among those with government institutions.
Cannot cut costs, civil heads and their teams now concentrate on a new budget, where they plan to prevent the creation of new obligations.
“The budget provisions are made for each job in their respective heads.
There is a head known as the ‘addutt’ budget.
Work cannot be planned on budget provisions in the head.
There is a system indicating disbursement from ‘addutt’ to work if there is no money left On each other’s heads.
This creates an obligation and triggers the financial crisis.
I made it obliged to propose works according to the money available on their respective heads.
I also ensure the naming works for the amount available in ‘Addutt’.
These steps tend to improve NMC finance, “he said.
NMC has been able to clean down obstacles and restart the construction of Metro Mall.
Civic’s body began negotiating with private institutions and long-delayed disputes related to the hoarding of advertising, which would likely produce some income.
NMC also started the tender process to appoint an agent to conduct surveys to increase income from advertising.
The process of preparing a new city development plan has also been accelerated.
