Kolkata: Covid-19, a fearful disease that has brought the world to kneel since the beginning of last year and trigger locking in countries around the world, as well as the closure of the school and a prolonged cancellation in India, will now be a chapter taught to class VI students and Class XI in schools affiliated with a higher Central Board and Secondary Board.
This chapter has been designed for health and physical education courses for both class VI and XI.
It will look for physical education books for class VI, following the nod of the State Education Department for proposals that have previously been sent there by the Expert Committee.
Health syllabus and physical education Class XI already has a chapter related to infectious diseases where Covid will now be added after the final approval of the department.
The new chapter will explain many questions related to Covid-19, including what is Coronavirus, what are the symptoms, how to keep yourself protected and what safety measures need to be taken.
“It is necessary to know about viruses and the community of students is part of a community that can play an important role in raising awareness,” said an official.
