Covid fatality fell to 6 weeks low PMR

Pune: The number of Covid-19 deaths fell to a six-week low of the week ended September 1 in the Pune Metropolitan area (PMR), the health department data showed.
A total of 74 deaths from infections were recorded in PMR for a week, which was the lowest since the last 10 days of July.
Compared to last week, the last week witnessed a decline in Covid victims in the PMC, PCMC and rural parts – from 2.3% to 1.9%, each 0.9% to 0.7% and 1.3% respectively to 0, 7%.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle, confirmed that Covid’s death was on the lower side now.
Around the same period last year, the monthly mortality rate was around 2.52%, which has now dropped to around 1%.
“Although a bit of a weekly rising level, death has dropped significantly at PMR.
Most of the current deaths can be associated with delays in revenues that lead to delayed medical interventions.
About 80% of these critical cases come from in PMR, while The rest from other districts, “he said.
Deshmukh said the PMR mortality rate could be lower since the death of people from other districts, who came to Pune for care, added to Tally Death Covid District.
“If Positive Covid patients have another positive district test in Pune, a new case is added to the PMR calculation and not to the district possessed by the patient.
Likewise, if a Covid patient from other districts surrendered to infection in Pune, death added to the burden of pune death.
ICMR has instructed all districts to stop the migration of the case of the outstation case to their respective districts.
Therefore, such cases added to Tally Covid Pune, “he explained.

Rao.
Dr.
