Gandhinagar: Gujarat surpassed another milestone in the Covid-19 vaccination drive on Tuesday because the number of Jab touched the 10 Crore sign.
Chairman of the Minister of Bhupendra Patel praised those involved in the vaccination program for the achievement.
A statement of the government said that Gujarat was at the forefront of the country as far as the 10 lakh population that qualified the two doses had been given.
The Covid-19 vaccination program was launched in the state on January 16, 2021.
A little more than a year, 10 doses of crore have been given in the state, releases added.
The release said that for the past year, vaccination programs have been taken on a large scale with special vaccination drives held in schools and colleges.
Special efforts are also ongoing to vaccinate people in their homes.
So far, the 4.87 of his old crore above 18 (98.8% of the qualified population) has been given the first dose while 4.59 crore people above 18 (95.7% of the eligible population) has been given a dose.
Their vaccinations aged between 15 and 18 years began from January 2022.
Of the 35.50 Lakh people who qualified in this age group, 28.44 lakh had been given the first dose of vaccines.
As many as 16.21 lakh people have provided a preventive dose until Tuesday, the government said in liberation.
