Pimpri Chinchwad: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has started aid channels for children by children to overcome queries related to Covid infection.
Overall 20 school children from VII standards to standard X from civil schools will operate the help channel every day starting at 11am to 1:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
These students have been formal training on Helpline operations by medical professionals and teaching.
If needed, experts will be there as a backup to answer any questions.
PCMC officials said that on the first day of Helpline, they received 37 calls, which were attended by Shrinath Deshpande from Madhyamic Vidyalaya Pimple Gurav and Kusak Kulkarni from Jnana Prabodhini’s school.
Teachers and parents are present at the aid channel center to increase the trust of the students.
Commissioner of PCMC, Rajesh Patil, told TII, “This is an experimental initiative that we began to build confidence among school students about Covid situation at this time.
Fear of Covid should not be among children and only possible if they have a channel Right to overcome their query.
If they have questions, they will get answers from students, which have been selected based on their communication skills.
If students cannot answer any questions, the expert backup will take over the call.
“A civilian body official said that 20 Students who will help can work rotationally.
Every day, two students will get the opportunity to operate the help channel.
Their parents were allowed to accompany them.
